KITCHEN

I added a make shift island , which I replaced with a smaller one now.  The floor will be replaced with a terracotta look tile.  This former island is made up of an old dresser, corner cabinet unit and an old headboard from my daughters bed!  Creative huh?

You can SEE the old "yellow" color of the kitchen in the upper right hand corner of this picture above!  Isn't this little corner niche (under the phone) SCREAMING for a banquette??  Kind of like the one to the right  (it's my favorite "new idea" photo).

This is the dining area where I would LOVE to put that banquette in (below).  This is the finished color and I removed the hutch to another area

I LOVE the "Cape" looking light fixtures too

NEW IDEAS

Once I added the banquette, I would have SO much more room that I could actually REMOVE the stove, add an "Island-L" and drop a cook-top into it!  I'd LOVE it!  Kinda like the "New Idea" below. This is the kind of tile (below) I am going to put on the "kitchen sink" wall, all the way over the stove (it's made of glass, it's iridescent and it's really funky!). This is the kind of deck (below) I'd like to add when we put in a slider in place of the kitchen window near the dining table that faces the backyard.

This is now what is in the place of that (white) wall on the left in the picture on the left.  I found this beauty in an antique store for VERY cheap, and dressed it up!  There is no reason why we that don't have fireplaces, can't have one!  It's not functional for real fire but I can add one of those electric log kits (which "I" personally am NOT crazy about) or fill it with candles- which is my favorite thing to do!  The inside has a steel fire box so it is perfectly safe for burning candles.
