Experience

·       Started singing at a very young age and got involved with school

Choirs and groups; started writing songs and performing them with

some friends at church. Went through a few groups, then at 14yrs,

joined a semi professional Gospel band called New Life.

 ·      Start working as a backing vocalist professionally with

Paul Johnson who I had met at church.  He was at the time promoting

his debut album and asked me to join him as a backing vocalist performing

both live and TV gigs around the UK.

·       By word of mouth recommendations, was asked to help on

many other gigs - working with artists such as Jools Holland (TV);

Paul Carrick (TV); Darryl Pandy (TV); Paul Young (Studio);

Stevie Wonder (TV & Studio); Studio Sessions with Ian Levine–producer;

LA Mix (Video); Yes/No People (Live & PA gigs, UK); Heaven 17

(PA/TV gigs – UK & Europe); Erasure (Live & Studio);

Duran Duran (Video); Simply Red (live- Ireland); Boy George (Video);

Richard Darbyshire – Living In A Box (Video); Pet Shop Boys (Studio); Dance with a Stranger (Live-Norway); Jonathon Butler (Live); Donny Osmond (TV –UK);

Ruby Turner (Live); Gabrielle (Live) and many others over the years.

·         In the period late 1989-1993 met up with JHJ

Production partnership, whilst on a session as one of a newly formed music agency – Session Connection, and clicked initially and soon proceeded to produce a single, initially release by New York Recording Label – Profile.

This soon caught the interest of Chrysalis/Cooltempo – UK – who were interested enough to sponsor/sign an album for Gee Morris a.k.a. Innocence, produced by JHJ, engineered by Phil Dane & predominantly played and co-written by Matt Rowe.

I was blessed with the success of  7 top 40 singles 3 of which were top 20 and a UK Gold album.

·         Two years later, I started production and song-writing

with Stevie Vincent (A.O.S.V) performing several

PA’s/TV gigs and also co-writing/producing and

performing in Studio sessions.

·         Kept my chops up doing live gigs with artists such as:

Gabrielle (Live); Damage (Live); Alexander O’Neal

(Live tours –UK & Europe/Video/TV gigs/Studio sessions/

                                    co-writing &arranging); Shola Ama (Live tours – UK & International/PA’s/TV); Fierce 
                                    (Live gigs & Studio sessions & Production).

·         Continually learning, using and growing in my song-writing, performing and producing skills, I have also been giving vocal tuition to several clients for the last 5+ years

·         Recently, I did a UK Tour with Matt Goss & more recently mini UK Tour with Lemar

·         Even more recently, I’ve been co-writing for a few up

and coming young groups that have recently been signed to

recording deals both in the U.K. and Europe.
